Description
Because of its wide range of colors, it has often been mistaken for other gemstones. Its colors can range from black, brown, red, green, pink, purple, green-blue with varying values attributed to some colors over others. Its name comes from the Sinhalese words tura mali, meaning “stone of mixed colors.” It’s been mined all over the world in South America, North America, Africa and Asia.
